Who Are Those Guys? - Andrea Bosic




Ignazio Andrej Božič was born in Gomilsko, Maribor, Yugoslavia on August 15, 1919. He moved to Rome where he attended acting classes at the National Academy of Dramatic Art, he was awarded a diploma in 1945 and immediately started to work in theater. He made his debut in the Society of Anna Magnani with the comedy “Maya”, directed by Orazio Costa;  then he worked with Vittorio Gassman, Paola Borboni and Giorgio Strehler at the Piccolo Teatro of Milan.

Appearing under the name Andrea Bosci he was very active in the television work of RAI beginning in 1956, both in comedy than in dramas typical of the period, less important was his presence in radio drama.

In film he began acting in 1951, in “Amo un assassin” directed by Baccio Bandini, the first film in a long series of works, where he passed through various types of genres such as adventures, crime, peplum and westerns.

He ended his career in the late 1980s and spent the last years of his life in Bologna, Italy at the Retirement Home for Dramatic Artists of Lyda Borelli, only structure in Italy, reserved for former actors and actresses of theater and cinema. It was there Bosci died on January 8, 2012.
