Remembering Branko Špoljar

Branko Špoljar was born on January 5, 1914 in Agram, Croatia, Austria-Hungary. Apparently Špoljar was a writer back in the 1940s according to an appearance he made at the Winnetou Fesitval in Croatia a few years ago. After some small appearances in Yugoslavia he succeeded in getting four supporting roles in the Karl May movies of the 1960s. After these roles, he then returned to Yugoslavian productions by the beginning of 1970. Špoljar appeared in five Euro-westerns from “The Treasure of Silver Lake” (1962) as Doc Jefferson Hartley to “Hellhounds of Alaska” (1972) as Doc.

Branko died on October 27, 1985 in Zagreb, Croatia.

Today we remember Branko Špoljar on what would have been his 100th birthday.
