Tony Garnett is accused of stealing the payroll at Fort Jackson and killing Captain Davis. Sentenced to death he manages to escape. His resentment, bitterness and hatred, make him the most ferocious bandit in the West and is known as “The Rattler Kid”. His cousin Riff sends him to Akela to kill the sheriff, while Riff robs the bank. But in Akela Garnett finds his old mentor who knows the intentions of the bandit. He tries to stop him but is wounded by Riff, who escapes with the loot. Chasing his cousin, Garnett turns up, during a brief stop at the ranch of Riff, and discovers the payroll that was stolen at Fort Jackson. The culprit that he is looking for is his own cousin. The truth now being known Riff and Garnett wrestle and in the end the sheriff talks Tony into surrendering and returning the payroll. With Riff brought to justice Garnett is given a full pardon.
