New Winnetou film update


New "Winnetou" to be filmed in 2012

Constantin brings the classic penned by Karl May to the canvas. The script was written by the author of "Dances with Wolves".

The Apache chief Winnetou rides again: As the Münchner Merkur reported recently, the film company Constantin wants to bring the classics from the pen of Karl May, again on the big screen.

Michael Blake, the writer of "The Dances With Wolves" has been engaged as a screenwriter, stated Constantin's CEO Martin Moszkowicz in the news. Filming will begin in 2012 in the United States.

According to the film project Moszkowicz has been involved since January, which would surprise the late Constantin-founder Bernd Eichinger.

To date, yet it is unclear who will take over the role of Winnetou in the reboot. In eleven films, from 1962 to 1968, embodied the French actor Pierre Brice's heroic Apache chief.
