Spaghetti Western Locations

Continuing with locations for “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”. While Blondie is attending to a dying Confederate soldier they have located in a bombed out church. Tuco makes a break to separate himself and locate Sad Hill ahead of his companion. Running across a plane towards the cemetery Blondie slows his progress by shooting off a cannon at him which sends him sailing through the air. In a sequence not used in the final print, Tuco fires a cannon back at Blondie. Blondie’s second shot sends Tuco airborne and he comes to rest against a tombstone at the edge of the vast cemetery. This location in a cow pasture now marked with a sign stating “Cemeterio de Sad Hill”. Recently a monument has been erected and was dedicated by Aldo Sambrell and Frank Brana, participants in the film as members of Angel Eyes gang.
