Happy 80th Birthday Gino Marturano

Luigi ‘Gino’ Marturano was born on February 8, 1931 in Taranto, Italy. He first appeared as an extra in the 1946 film “Prince of Foxes” directed by Henry King, he then had a small role in “Shoeshine” by Vittorio De Sica and then appeared in “La Dolce Vita” (1960). Since the early sixties Gino played in mainly adventure and westerns (sometimes using the pseudonym of Jean Martin). He became a stunt coordinator and master of arms. A helicopter pilot since 1966: it was Gino who was responsible for the aerial scenes in the TV film “Blackmail 2" (1991). He was last seen in 1998's documentary “L’America a Roma”. Gino has appeared in a dozen Euro-westerns from 1959's “The Sheriff” to “Panhandle .38" (1972). Among his better known films were “Adios Gringo” (1965) with Giuliano Gemma under his alias Jean Martin, “$7.00 to Kill” (1966) with Anthony Steffen, “A Minute to Pray, a Second to Die” (1968) with Alex Cord and Robert Ryan, and “Sabata” (1969) with Lee Van Cleef. Today we celebrate Gino Marturano’s 80th birthday.
